Sakki-Sakki Tarot DEAL: DECK +LWB +BOOK - Sakki-Sakki

The Sakki-Sakki Tarot offers a refreshed vision of traditional archetypes. Each card’s artwork has been assembled from a collage of pre-existing drawings, icons, and “sensitive inks” to add layers of meaning and feeling. The vibrant colors and intense compositions invite both the reader and the querent to “jump in” to the deck, experiencing it and responding to it in their own ways.

The evocative human figures in the Sakki-Sakki Tarot are abstract and idealized, making room for the individual reader and querent to fill in the details with their own interpretations. Skin, hair, and eye color of the images are left to the imagination of the individual user–in fact, many of the Minor Arcana figures are headless!

These ambiguities and omissions beckon us toward a creative collaboration, in which we complete the art of the cards according to our own fancies and preferences.

VIEW THE No-Head CARDS

One of the characteristics of The Sakki-Sakki Tarot is that some cards had no heads!
Can you make up the personality of each character?

HAUNTED Sakki-Sakki

So what is The Haunted Sakki-Sakki Tarot?

ONE THING IT IS NOT: a new edition, an old edition, a sequel, or illegal copy of The Sakki-Sakki Tarot.

The Haunted Sakki-Sakki includes the first printed cards of the first and only original run. So much the first, that they were all trashed, as the back side was printed on both sides to “warm up” the machine and to get some paper rolling. Every run of print has such an amount of “damaged” material. They sometimes call them “makletours”.

Well, these were just too pretty to let them be trashed. In a way, there were even more beautiful. Unexpected things happened. New shapes emerged, other shapes covered. A new form of art was born with the random and the mistake in mind. Not caring about mistakes, that is.  The greenish looking layer gave the feeling of a haunted lace. Making things even more mysterious than they already are. The cards speak a bit more spooky too.

I collected some cards and savored them. Then compiled them carefully into a few decks. I gave a few as special gifts. Two I kept for my kids. One for myself. They started to attract some interest, so I looked at what leftovers of the leftovers I had, and put together a few more. These were sold to a fortunate few who were called to do so.

Each deck is different. Some cards are very greeny, overprinted and laced. Others less. Each deck has a character, things it hides and things it reveals. This deck is a magical mistake.
